Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Determine students' physical therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement Evidence-Based Interventions: Enhance students' motor skills, mobility, and physical functioning using appropriate therapeutic equipment and techniques.
  • Collaborate with Educational Staff: Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with physical disabilities.
  • Provide Direct Physical Therapy Services: Offer individual and group physical therapy sessions to students, utilizing therapeutic equipment and techniques.
  • Participate in Multidisciplinary Meetings: Contribute to students' educational planning and goal setting through Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Document treatment notes, progress reports, and billing information as required by school policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or adolescents with physical disabilities, preferably in a school-based setting.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of pediatric physical therapy principles, techniques, and interventions, as well as proficiency in using therapeutic equipment and tools relevant to school-based physical therapy.
