Job Title:

Cardiovascular ICU Advanced Practice Provider

Job Summary:

The Cardiovascular ICU Advanced Practice Provider functions within the adult ICU areas and is an integral member of a multidisciplinary health care team. The CVICU APP functions primarily managing critically ill adults and serves as a resource throughout UKHC for intensive care interventions. The APP is generally on a service aligned team and manages the day to day patient care from ICU to step down to discharge.

Responsibilities:
  • Patient assessment and patient care, and documentation thereof
  • Formulate differential diagnoses by priority
  • Initiate appropriate referrals and consultations
  • Manage diagnostic tests through ordering and interpretation
  • Line placement and maintenance
  • Provide specialty consultation services upon request
  • Utilize evidence-based, approved practice protocols in planning and implementing care
Requirements:
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C)
  • 1 yr of required related experience
Work Environment:

The APP works primarily night shift and is offered $4,000 and 80 hours of leave for continuing education.
