Job Summary:
As a skilled Postpartum Registered Nurse at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to new mothers and their babies. Under the guidance of our experienced healthcare team, you will utilize your clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment: Conduct thorough, multi-system assessments to identify patient needs and deviations from normal lab diagnostic tests. Develop and implement individualized nursing plans of care that prioritize patient well-being and safety.
  • Planning: Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning. Develop patient teaching plans and document care according to policy and procedure.
  • Implementation: Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for the management of medical and surgical patients. Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Evaluation: Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patient response to treatment. Participate in unit quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements:
  • Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience.
  • 1 year recent experience, within the last 3 years, in postpartum/newborn/LDRP setting.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
