Production Planning Supervisor

As a key member of our team, you will oversee the Production Scheduling Department to manage the manufacturing planning for a production plant of moderate complexity. This involves supervising a team of Production Schedulers responsible for scheduling production requirements and developing production build plans for a product line and/or lines that are built within one or more manufacturing location.
Key responsibilities include planning and scheduling production in accordance with the overall sales and operations plan, driving initiatives to optimize and achieve targeted inventory levels and to minimize production costs, and scrap reduction. You will also work with Supply Planning to determine optimum batch sizes to achieve targeted inventory levels and E&O targets.
Additional responsibilities include reviewing plans & schedules in the rough-cut capacity stage and responding in advance to periods where demand is greater than available capacity to level loading or planning over time as needed. You will also communicate production plans to Production, Procurement, Supply Planning, and coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between work centers in order to provide smooth and timely flow in the factory.
Other key responsibilities include monitoring production and supply related performance metrics and communicating issues in a timely manner, generating daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling related reporting requirements to measure performance to plan, and understanding plant capacities and constraints with the ability to articulate related insights to cross functional stakeholders.
As a leader, you will also manage product lifecycle projects for new, existing, and discontinuing products to ensure product availability and to minimize scrap and in communications on status and issues with Production, Procurement, Supply Planning, Engineering, R&D, QC, and Division Marketing.
Finally, you will maintain all open production work orders and complete all SAP transactions in a timely manner, accurately maintain the appropriate planning parameters for capacity, resources, work centers, shop calendar to generate scheduling recommendation, and drive SAP user adoption as well as system training and master data management.
Requirements include a Bachelor`s degree or equivalent in Business, Product Supply Management or related discipline, ~2+ years of production planning and scheduling experience, ~5+ years manufacturing production experience, preferably in a regulated environment, and ~Familiarity with SAP and other manufacturing materials systems.
