Job Summary: Wegmans Food Markets is seeking a skilled and motivated Culinary Trainee to join our team.

About the Role: As a Culinary Trainee, you will assist the Sous Chef in running the kitchen and managing employees, overseeing operations in the absence of the Sous Chef. You will also follow recipes and proper cooking techniques to ensure products are consistently prepared to showcase our high standards. Additionally, you will educate customers and employees on products, share knowledge to offer complete meal solutions, and suggest ways for them to prepare meal items incorporating items from different departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations and employees
  • Follow recipes and cooking techniques to maintain high-quality products
  • Educate customers and employees on products and meal solutions
  • Manage employee performance by providing resources, training, feedback, and development opportunities

Requirements:

  • 2 or more years of experience as a Prep or Line Cook
  • Experience leading a team
  • Food safety and quality assurance knowledge
