Job Title: Orthopedic Care Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Care Specialist to join our team at The Staff Pad. As an integral part of our medical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to patients requiring orthopedic services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Support:
    • Assist licensed personnel in applying and removing casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices.
    • Provide education to patients on proper care and maintenance of orthopedic devices and overall orthopedic health.
    • Maintain vigilance and report any changes in patient condition or adverse reactions to orthopedic devices to licensed staff.
  • Clinical Duties:
    • Prepare and maintain the orthopedic treatment area, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sanitized and functioning properly.
    • Assist with minor orthopedic procedures as directed by licensed personnel.
    • Evaluate and document patient care activities and orthopedic procedures accurately.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Maintain inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment, notifying relevant personnel when replenishment is necessary.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care and efficient scheduling of orthopedic services.
    • Perform various clerical duties as required, including patient registration and appointment scheduling.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Acknowledge and adhere to hospital policies and procedures, emphasizing those related to patient privacy and infection control.
    • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following safety protocols and reporting any hazards to supervisory personnel.
    • Stay current with continuing education requirements and maintain certifications.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • At least one year of experience as an Orthopedic Technician.
    • Prior experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • Current certification as an Orthopedic Technician.
    • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
