As the Senior People Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of our team, adept at transitioning between strategic initiatives and hands-on tasks while serving as a thoughtful leader and collaborator within the People Operations team and beyond. This role will spearhead efforts to establish a robust HR framework, enabling us to scale effectively while providing opportunities to develop, enhance, and implement solutions for various complex HR challenges in a dynamic environment. Key focus areas will include the design and execution of People policies and processes to ensure top-tier operations, compliance with core HR standards, and optimization of people systems with an emphasis on self-service and automation, allowing our workforce to concentrate on impactful work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee the People Operations and Facilities team, offering guidance and support to ensure operational excellence on a daily basis.
  • Act as a change agent, assisting the broader Truckstop organization in managing and executing change management, employee transitions, and other people-related initiatives.
  • Own the delivery, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of core HR processes and policies, including policy management, compliance training, and leave of absence best practices, while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Collaborate with People Business Partners and cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant regulations to mitigate risk and exposure; partner with legal to address any employment-related legal matters.
  • Work with internal communications to support strategies for People Operations programs and announcements.
  • Oversee and improve the handling of inbound People Operations requests and employee self-service resources, ensuring that team materials are current and relevant for a seamless experience.
  • Design a variety of resources, from online materials to internal standard operating procedures, tailoring existing processes to meet specific business needs.
  • Support the enhancement and evolution of all HR Systems (including HRIS) to ensure they are optimized for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop metrics and processes to evaluate policies and associated programs, ensuring a data-driven approach to measure effectiveness; utilize data to recommend and implement solutions that support team and business objectives.
Qualifications:
  • 7-9 years of experience focused on enhancing the employee experience in an HR/People Operations capacity.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team, emphasizing accountability and results.
  • Strong HR functional expertise, knowledgeable in employment law compliance, policy creation, and process development.
  • Robust business acumen to deliver impactful solutions, demonstrating creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Prior experience in building scalable operational support structures for all people systems, including HRIS.
  • Ability to leverage data to drive recommendations and decision-making.
  • Forward-thinking mindset to build for the long term, creating proactive workflows.
  • Passionate about delivering an exceptional experience for employees at all levels.
  • Confidence in proposing and recommending projects or programs necessary for achieving functional goals.
  • Enhances the capabilities of others through work reviews, thorough documentation, and expert guidance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a technology company.
  • Familiarity with UKG as an end-to-end HRIS solution.
  • Experience with immigration matters in the United States.

The final salary will be determined based on various factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, education, certifications, key skills, experience, internal equity, and business considerations.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is: $130,000—$150,000 USD.
