About the Role

Atrium Health is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. You will operate CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency, ensuring accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist as necessary.
  • Properly identify and assist patients, explaining procedures and documenting on appropriate worksheets.
  • Interview patients for a complete medical history, reviewing EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical information.
  • Assume responsibility for the exam from beginning to completion, preparing and administering IV contrast as needed.
  • Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist if necessary, recognizing abnormal anatomy and processing additional images as instructed.
  • Perform basic patient care functions, informing nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiating life support measures as needed.
  • Operate radiology computer systems to enter orders and charge procedures/supplies, documenting contrast administration in the MAR.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology, or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine, and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire.
  • Current CPR certification.

Physical Requirements

This role requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting are required during normal operation, with frequent stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling in the daily operation of the CT department.
