Job Summary

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking an experienced Embryologist II to join our Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing advanced micromanipulation techniques, including embryo biopsy and ICSI, to facilitate fertilization and monitor media quality to ensure the growth of embryos.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced micromanipulation of embryos and oocytes, including embryo biopsy and ICSI
  • Conduct laboratory assignments correctly and reliably, including routine procedures and quality control tests, as described in the Laboratory Procedure Manual
  • Communicate laboratory findings and interpretations of findings with physicians, nurses, and patients, as appropriate
  • Assist the laboratory director in maintaining and updating laboratory supplies and equipment
  • Assist the laboratory director in data collection and analysis
  • Participate in continuing education activities
  • Participate in continuing quality improvement programs of the foundation and laboratory
  • Train new staff as requested
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences or equivalent relevant experience
  • Three to five years' experience in a relevant role
  • Previous experience in advanced micromanipulation, tissue culture, sterile techniques, and egg iteration
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as ART
