Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at The Salvation Army USA. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving all food in the center, maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, and adhering to recommended food preparation practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve all food in the center, ensuring high-quality dishes that meet the needs of our clients.
- Maintain the kitchen in a sanitary and efficient condition, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Prepare, cook, and serve food according to recommended practices, including following weekly menus developed in consultation with the director.
- Ensure apportionment of food for children's groups according to their needs, taking into account factors such as age and dietary requirements.
- Make local food purchases when necessary, sourcing high-quality ingredients to support our culinary operations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude towards colleagues and clients.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, staff, and external partners.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
