Job Summary:

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing site-wide health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. This position will oversee all EHS activities for the Manassas site, including conducting hazard identification and risk assessments, chairing the safety committee, and managing the Workers Compensation program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Chair the safety committee to ensure open communication and visibility of the safety program.
  • Manage the Workers Compensation program, including monitoring treatment, fees, and injuries.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for staff on company safety policies and practices.
  • Manage all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, including Lock out tag out, Confined space, Electrical Safety, Industrial Hygiene, PPE, Emergency Response, and Security.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, Public Health, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial setting, preferably in the food, beverage, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Industry-recognized safety certification (e.g., ASP, CSP, CIH).
  • Good interpersonal skills and leadership characteristics.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently.
  • Knowledgeable about regulatory topics (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, FDA, GMP, etc.).
