Chief Counsel

Job Summary

As the Chief Counsel for Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc., you will be responsible for directing the business legal function for the company in the United States. This role requires a strong understanding of corporate and commercial law, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft contracts and contract templates to protect company business interests
• Advise company employees on various legal issues and provide sound legal solutions
• Develop and implement legal processes and strategies to support company business objectives
• Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate governance requirements
• Provide leadership and guidance to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree
• License to practice law in the State of California
• Ten years of corporate and commercial transactional practical experience
• Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Budget development and analysis ability
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization

Work Environment

This is a sedentary position in a controlled office environment that requires occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of office files, reports, or records, typically weighing 5 lbs. or less. The position also requires occasional domestic travel, including overnight stays.

Compensation

The pay scale for this position is between $179,645 to $238,030, and the actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
