Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Engineer to enhance our Web Engineering Team. This role involves the design, implementation, and upkeep of Output's diverse web platforms and services. You will collaborate with various departments, including marketing, product, operations, and design, to ensure all requirements are effectively addressed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead impactful web projects and initiatives that align with Output's vision of fostering creativity in music.
  • Develop and maintain web applications and services utilizing a range of modern web technologies and frameworks.
  • Enhance website performance through technical expertise in analytics, SEO, and quality assurance.
  • Engage in Web Engineering scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, backlog management, and sprint reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with design, marketing, support, and product teams on web-related projects and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with the Web engineering team to strategize and implement technical initiatives for growth and scalability.
  • Assess new technologies to modernize our web stack and improve performance and reliability.
  • Partner with QA to identify and resolve web-related issues, ensuring high-quality releases.
  • Utilize automated testing and monitoring tools to enhance site usability and speed for critical user experiences.
  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices to maintain optimal functionality of all Output web properties.
  • Contribute to the establishment of engineering best practices within Output.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a web engineer on production websites.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proficient in Typescript, CSS, VueJs, RESTful API integration, and modern headless CMS solutions.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining customer-facing VueJS applications.
  • Strong background in creating functional websites with attention to design and SEO best practices.
  • Ability to interpret design documents and extract necessary assets.
  • Expertise in front-end coding and debugging, with a solid understanding of optimization principles.
  • Familiarity with ES6, HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, CSS frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap), and version control systems (Git/Github).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred: A passion for democratizing music creation and supporting creative musicians.
