About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at the State of Connecticut. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform custodial tasks, including dusting, mopping, sweeping, and polishing floors
  • Wash, dust, and polish glass, including windows, woodwork, walls, furniture, and metal equipment
  • Make beds, check, mark, store, and issue linens, blankets, and clothing
  • Collect and count soiled laundry, distribute, empty, and sterilize glassware, wash basins, and bedpans
  • Report needs for repairs, perform minor maintenance, and run errands as needed
Requirements
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to operate, care for, and perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment
  • Some ability in simple record keeping
  • Physical strength, stamina, physical agility, and visual and auditory acuity
