Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing clinical diagnostic studies and evaluations of cellular material from all body sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine screening of cell specimens, report results, and document daily workload records.
  • Process specimens for analysis according to specifications related to the type of specimen.
  • Conduct quality control assessment, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the collection and processing of fine needle aspiration specimens.
  • Assist with data collection or special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Cytotechnologist credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Board eligible with certification obtained within one year also accepted.
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, medical laboratory scientist, human sciences, or education qualifications as stated per CLIA requirements.
