Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Sand Blast Operator I to join our team at Rexnord Industries, LLC. As a Sand Blast Operator I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to sandblasting and heat treating aircraft components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sandblasting: Abrasively blast aircraft components in preparation for machining and plating operations.
  • Heat Treating: Perform heat treating duties, including packing and unpacking furnace loads and cleaning parts.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow proper safety procedures and strictly adhere to all documented procedures around the processing of parts.
  • Quality and Productivity: Demonstrate continued improvement in the areas of quality and productivity.
  • 5S and Cross-Training: Actively contribute to the improvement of 5S in the Machining Department and participate in cross-training programs to improve and broaden your skill set.

Requirements:

  • Sandblasting Experience: Some sandblasting experience is preferred.
  • Setup and Operation: Strong knowledge of and experience performing setups, including selection of speeds and feeds and making machine adjustments and corrections.
  • Verification and Analysis: Ability to verify part conformity using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators and ability to read and analyze engineering prints.
  • Math Skills: Strong math skills.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Experience participating in Kaizen Events focused on process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Ability to relate to team members well and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to multitask while being complete in thorough in following documented procedures and ability to escalate production and downtime issues to get them resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Attitude and Adaptability: Attitude of openness to change and exhibit a desire to improve every day.
