Job Purpose

The American Builders Supply is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Continual Improvement Manager Trainee to join our team. This is an entry-level opportunity that requires 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Improve productivity by performing continual improvement activities, including 5S and kaizen events.
  • Provide leadership presence and coach a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Lead and follow up on visual management initiatives, including trend graphs for safety, OTIF, and productivity.
  • Supervise and monitor work assignments, workflow, production flow, work standards, and productivity.
  • Lead problem-solving teams and implement new processes.
  • Creation of SOPs, work procedures, and other training material.
  • Assist in all other related duties.
Qualifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good administrative proficiency and customer service skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office word and excel.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Bachelor's Degree – in Industrial Engineering.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Lean/5S experience in a manufacturing/distribution setting.
  • Ability to lead, empower, and develop personnel.
Working Conditions
  • Job requires some extended hours, as needed, to accomplish job requirements.
  • Job requires working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment which includes high temperatures and humidity.
  • Job requires working in and around machinery/powered equipment and associated safety risks.
  • Job requires interaction with all levels within the location and all their direct reports (as needed).
  • Job requires interaction with customers to resolve issues.
Physical Requirements

Job sometimes requires lifting and sitting for long periods of time around a manufacturing and/or warehouse facility.
