Job Summary

Kettering Health is seeking a skilled Culinary Associate II to join our team. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for performing basic food preparation and service tasks for retail areas, catering, ingredient room, and/or patient Room Service line.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages to patients, staff, and visitors in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Handle food in accordance with HACCP principles and applicable food codes.
  • Operate and maintain food service equipment, including coffee brewers, espresso machines, and display equipment.
  • Manage position paperwork and processes, including order-taking and preparation, cash register operations, and refrigerator and freezer temperature monitoring.
  • Follow correct hand hygiene procedures and utilize appropriate scripting to respond to patients and internal customers.
  • Effectively and safely use position equipment and perform cleaning/sanitation procedures.
  • Prepare, assemble, serve, cook, or bake food and beverages per guidelines/recipes.
  • Accurately handle cash and manage sales transactions through MyMicros software.

Requirements

  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to push and pull wheeled carts.
  • Able to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to tolerate frequent temperature changes, working around equipment that generates heat, steam, and cold.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Food service or customer service experience preferred.
