Position Summary
Bartender I
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager, Assistant F&B Service Director, F&B Service Director, F&B Director
Supervises: Non-supervisory role
Classification: Non-Exempt
Key Responsibilities
As a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing, pouring, and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. A solid understanding of mixology, including food and wine pairings, is essential.
Core Duties
Leadership
- Foster a positive workplace environment.
- Craft, prepare, and serve beverages to patrons and collaborate with food and beverage servers to fulfill drink orders using established recipes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of liquors, beers, and wines to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Adhere to all regulations and club policies regarding the service of alcoholic beverages, and communicate with management if there are concerns about serving a member or guest.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills by inspecting the bar before opening to ensure all supplies are ready.
- Ensure cleanliness and reset tables throughout your shift.
- Maintain and sanitize the bar area and equipment.
- Properly store, label, date, and rotate food items to avoid health hazards and spoilage.
- Be knowledgeable of emergency procedures and perform your role effectively during such situations.
- Assist with bussing tables in the dining area.
- Seat guests when a host is unavailable.
- Deliver beverages to members in the dining area.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Create innovative cocktail menus for various outlets.
- Understand all aspects of departmental operations, including events and operating hours.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Experience
- Minimum of one year of bartending experience.
- Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
- Preferred: Alcohol beverage certification.
- Preferred: Food safety certification.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of repetitive motions and working in a hot, humid, and noisy environment.
