**Job Overview:**

  We work closely with parents and caregivers to provide services that are meaningful to each child's life. As a pediatric speech therapist, you will have regular contact with other therapists and be part of a collaborative environment where ideas and hard work are valued.

  In this position, you will plan, evaluate, organize and conduct pediatric speech therapy programs to facilitate growth in speech, language, swallow, cognitive and social development. You will administer evaluations and assessments to determine a child's level of function in areas like speech development, articulation, swallow function, social interaction, language, and cognitive skills.

  You will also develop treatment plans, monitor progress, and provide family training and planning for eventual discharge as needed. This position requires independent clinical judgment, well-developed communication skills, and the ability to work well with coworkers and families of clients.

  As a new organization, you will also be an important consultant in developing policies, programs, and will have input into the design of SLP-related spaces and documents.

**Responsibilities:*

  •   Administer pediatric speech therapy to children in clinic settings, and occasionally on location in schools or homes.
  •   Conduct in-depth evaluations which include both standardized testing and structured clinical observations, requiring at least one hour but occasionally more testing time, followed by scoring and clinical interpretation. A parent conference and a detailed assessment report are also provided for each evaluation and must be completed within two weeks.
  •   Determine areas of concern, identify goals, and develop treatment plans for clients.
  •   Document results of clients' evaluation, treatment, follow-up and discharge concisely and accurately. Complete reports to be turned in no later than 2 weeks after the child's appointment.
  •   Maintain a full patient load (approximately 7 hour long treatments per 8 hour day or the equivalent when working alternate schedules, and seeing at least 2 evaluations a week) while keeping up with timely documentation.
  •   Create and maintain positive relationships with families and children who visit clinic. Demonstrate ability to communicate difficult information in a kind and appropriate manner.
  •   Maintain thorough, up-to-date treatment notes on each client.
  •   Develop appropriate home programs for clients when applicable, demonstrating developmental strategies for perceptual, motor and sensory improvement.
  •   Provide direction, training, and assistance to interns and volunteers assigned to the speech therapy program.
  •   Supervise SLPAs assigned to your license per state and federal regulations.
  •   Demonstrate positive interaction with co-workers, clients, families, and third parties, treating all with respect and demonstrating responsiveness to their needs.
  •   Demonstrate adaptability to new people, procedures, and situations.

**Requirements:*

  •   Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Speech Therapy and licensed in the State of California.
  •   Minimum Experience: Preferred 1 year of clinical experience in a pediatric therapy setting. Proficiency in conducting evaluations in pediatric clinic-based settings.
  •   Required Certification and/or Registration: Licensed by the Speech-Language Therapy & Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board in the state of California. American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).

**Estimated Salary:** $70,000 - $90,000 per year based on experience and education. Flexible work from home options available.
