Job Overview

Purpose of the Role

The Inventory Control Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory within the Tissue Bank. This position is vital for maintaining compliance with both State and Federal Regulations as well as AATB Standards. The coordinator is expected to foster Lean Practices throughout the organization, engaging in initiatives such as brainstorming sessions and process improvement activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resourcefulness in meeting deadlines and possess strong multitasking abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare the Inventory Control Area in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  2. Maintain precise inventory records for post-processing and quarantine products, both frozen and at room temperature.
  3. Execute the disposition of nonconforming products as instructed.
  4. Oversee all data entry tasks and ensure the completion of documentation related to tissue management.
  5. Possess comprehensive knowledge of the information outlined in the Tissue Bank Manuals.
  6. Perform duties under the guidance of supervisory personnel.
  7. Stay informed about relevant regulations and standards concerning the storage, handling, labeling, and inspection of tissue.
  8. Stage tissues for sterilization and manage the receipt of tissues post-sterilization/irradiation.
  9. Handle the receipt of donors and tissues for processing.
  10. Coordinate the scheduling, sending, and receiving of tissues for sterilization/irradiation while monitoring freezer conditions and responding to alarms in the Tutela System.
  11. Generate daily reports to oversee the Inventory Area and identify any discrepancies.
  12. Collaborate with various operational departments to improve inventory accuracy.
  13. Reconcile tissue inventory and facilitate the transfer of released products for distribution.
  14. Dispose of donors/tissues as per SOPs and Work Instructions (WIs).
  15. Ensure proper documentation for all tissue inventory transfers.
  16. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work areas.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment

The majority of the work is conducted indoors, requiring standing and walking throughout the facility. Occasional warehouse duties may be necessary. Weekend shifts will be rotated among department employees, and evening shifts may be required as needed.

Physical Requirements

Must be capable of lifting boxes weighing up to 50 lbs and utilizing both manual and automatic hand trucks and pallet jacks.
