Electrical Systems Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to contribute to the success of our company, Johnson Service Group (IL).

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Transportation and Travel: The selected candidate will be responsible for providing their own transportation to various reporting locations, excluding their normal commute.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in computer software and systems is essential for this role.
  • Electrical System Knowledge: Basic knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repair skills, is required.
  • Electrical Industry Expertise: Familiarity with electrical industry equipment and practices is necessary for success in this position.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprint and schematic drawings is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Good writing and communication skills are required for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • Meter Safety: Inspect meter and meter leads for damage, cracks, or deterioration before every use to ensure safe operation.
  • Meter Function Setup: Ensure meter function is set up correctly for intended use to prevent errors and ensure accurate readings.
  • Voltage Safety: Use secondary voltage cover-up kit to limit the possibility of accidental contact with electrical sources.
  • Meter Calibration: Use a known voltage source terminal to ensure the meter is working correctly and provide accurate readings.
  • CT Circuit Safety: Verify CT circuit is properly shorted and grounded before opening, and verify absence of current before opening a secondary CT circuit.
  • Breaker Mechanism Safety: Verify breaker is open and any stored energy is discharged when working on or in close proximity to a breaker mechanism device.
