Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist - Occupational Therapist to join our team in Huntington Park, California.
Job Summary:The Clinical Specialist - Occupational Therapist will practice under indirect supervision to design, deliver, and evaluate treatment plans in a recognized area of specialized practice. This includes hand therapy, adult neuro rehab, pediatrics, spinal cord injury, and assisted technology. The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing patients' conditions, developing treatment plans, and providing direct patient care.
Responsibilities:- Design and deliver in-service training programs for students and staff in the assigned area of specialty clinical practice.
- Assess patients' conditions and develop treatment plans to achieve desired outcomes.
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic and functional methods to promote muscle return, sensory re-education, and activities of daily living.
- Consult with referring physicians regarding treatment requests and delegate tasks to support personnel as needed.
- Develop and implement special classes or clinics for defined patient populations within a recognized AOTCB specialty practice area of expertise.
- Completion of 6-9 months of supervised clinical Occupational Therapy fieldwork approved by the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
- Completion of a minimum 200 hours of specialized education in an AOTCB specialty, plus two years of full-time clinical experience as a registered Occupational Therapist.
- Graduation from an Occupational Therapy educational program approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.
- Occupational Therapist License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
- Two years of clinical experience in an AOTB recognized area of specialized practice.
