Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Preroll Technician to join our team at Connecticut Social Equity. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge and experience working in an assembly line environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Roll Production: Operate and maintain knockbox machines to produce pre-rolls, ensuring all products meet exact weight specifications as indicated on SKUs. Hand-seal the tops of pre-rolls, checking for consistency in size, shape, and weight.
  • Flower Packaging: Accurately weigh and package flower products, such as eighths (3.5g) or quarters (7g), using precision scales. Ensure that each package adheres to strict weight tolerances and complies with state regulations regarding cannabis packaging and labeling.
  • Label Application: Apply labels to final products, ensuring each label is correctly applied before the product is released for distribution. Double-check for label accuracy, including product weight, strain name, and any regulatory information.
  • Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks during production to ensure all products meet company and regulatory standards. Follow all QA and QC guidelines to rectify non-conformances on the line. Maintain precise counts and follow department verifications to ensure inventory accuracy. Address any discrepancies in product weight, labeling, or appearance immediately.
  • Compliance and Record-Keeping: Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain compliance with all state and local regulations governing cannabis production. Complete batch records, inventory logs, and other necessary documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • PPE and Safety Protocols: Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including gloves, masks, and protective clothing. Ensure that all safety protocols are followed to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Production Efficiency: Maintain expected production rates by working efficiently and effectively as part of a team. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and reduce waste.
  • Facility and Equipment Maintenance: Responsible for the set up and maintenance of equipment throughout the processing environment. Perform routine cleaning of workstations, production equipment, and the facility.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have valid CT license and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work certain holidays as required
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred
  • Previous experience in Cannabis industry is preferred
  • Previous experience in Food & Beverage industry is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance skills
Preferred Skills or Qualifications
  • Cannabis Industry Experience: Previous experience in a cannabis production facility or similar regulated environment, with familiarity in working with cannabis flower, pre-roll production, packaging, labeling, and facility maintenance.
  • Machine Operation: Experience in safely operating machinery such as knockbox machines, scales, labeling equipment, packaging equipment, and cleaning equipment. Ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform routine maintenance.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Basic understanding of state and local cannabis regulations, particularly those related to product weight, packaging, labeling, and cleanliness standards.
  • Quality Control Experience: Experience in a quality control or production role, with a focus on maintaining consistency, accuracy in products, label compliance, cleanliness, and maintaining accurate logs and records.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Interest in contributing to process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the production, labeling, and facility maintenance environment.
