Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Cafeteria Food Service Specialist is responsible for the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals in a cafeteria setting.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a clean and organized cafeteria environment while handling food.
  • Prepare and cook meals daily, adhering to recipes and procedures as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Follow all instructions for food preparation, cooking, and sanitation meticulously.
  • Comply with all safety and hygiene protocols established by the organization.
  • Assist in recording charges as necessary.
  • Perform manual tasks associated with daily cafeteria operations, which may include:
    • Sweeping and mopping
    • Cleaning kitchen equipment
    • Hand washing cookware
    • Operating dishwashing machinery
    • Lifting trays, pots, and pans
  • Remain vigilant about safety and promptly report any hazardous conditions to the lead supervisor or manager.
  • Engage in training sessions sponsored by the organization as assigned.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma is preferred but not mandatory. Comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and individuals with disabilities.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks throughout the entire shift without fatigue.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
