About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiac Cath Technologist to join our dynamic Cardiac Care Team at Beebe Healthcare. As a vital member of our team, you will play a critical role in assisting our expert Cardiologists with cutting-edge cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterization, Swan Ganz, pacemaker implants, TEE/CV, IABP, and Percutaneous Coronary Interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with scrub duties, utilizing sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination, set-up trays, and prepare and position patients.
  • Assist physicians in the circulator role by positioning patients to obtain digital films and giving medications/contrast (if tech/RN certified) under MD supervision in accordance with departmental policy.
  • Assist physicians in the recorder/monitor role, documenting the case, balancing calibration, and operating physiologic recorder and calculating and reporting patient information from data gathered in the cardiac cath lab.
  • Review patient charts for appropriate information, such as indicators that may indicate risk to the patient, maintain the holding area, and assist in transporting patients.
  • Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self according to prescribed safety standards, maintain controlled drug inventory according to prescribed controlled drug policy, and assure that the crash cart and drug box are accurately supplied and dated.
  • Recognize emergency situations and initiate code procedures or administer first aid or CPR as needed.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media or medications under supervision of the Cardiologist, assist in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies, and actively participate in product evaluation to determine best and most cost-effective product.
  • Maintain daily work log and participate in the follow-up on patients, rotate in an on-call status, and actively participate in performance improvement process to include evaluating, reporting, and follow-up recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Able to communicate effectively, pleasantly, cooperatively, and discreetly with patients, physicians, team members, and the general public.
  • Able to work under pressure and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds, training, and experience.
  • Demonstration of creativity, initiative, and problem-solving.
  • Required - Cardiovascular Technician (CVT), unable to perform fluoroscopy.
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • Preferred - RT (R) or RCIS. Must be licensed with the State of Delaware, Radiation License in order to use fluoroscopy.

  • ARRT-CV - Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography.
  • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • ARRT-RT - Radiological Tech.
