Cleveland Clinic Sterile Processing Manager Job Description

Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Manager to join our team of dedicated caregivers. As a key member of our Central Sterile Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety through the efficient processing and distribution of sterile equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the operations of the Central Sterile Department, including supervising a team of caregivers and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Develop and implement annual departmental strategic and operational plans, as well as prepare annual budgets.
  • Manage staffing requirements and cost-effective programs, ensuring the department runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Develop, review, and maintain all quality processes, safety programs, customer service programs, and sterile monitoring programs for the department.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing by the NICHSPDS, CBSPD, or IAHCSMM/HSPA.
  • Three years of managerial experience in a processing service that supports surgical service, general patient care service, outpatient activity, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, supplies, equipment, sterilizers, and infection control principles, aseptic practice, sterilization, disinfection, and distribution practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in science (nursing, biology, etc.).
