Position Summary

The Surgical Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and safety of surgical procedures. This position is responsible for a variety of technical tasks that guarantee the availability of necessary supplies and equipment while maintaining a sterile environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the preparation and turnover of operating rooms in compliance with established protocols and departmental standards.
  2. Participate actively in surgical procedures by supporting surgeons within the surgical field, which includes:
  • Setting up and organizing the operating room, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and readily available.
  • Carefully handling surgical instruments to prevent damage.
  • Assessing the specific needs of each surgical case, including patient and physician requirements.
  • Maintaining clear communication with the surgical team to ensure optimal preparedness.
  • Seeking guidance when necessary to assist with procedures based on individual expertise.
  • Properly managing and labeling all specimens.
  • Contributing to the maintenance and updating of physician preference cards.
Engage in the restocking, resupplying, and cleaning of operating rooms and related areas to promote effective and safe departmental operations. Serve as a mentor to students, providing orientation on the functions and responsibilities of a Surgical Technician. Perform additional job-related tasks as required. Mission, Vision, & Values
