Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced RN-House Supervisor II to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for coordinating activities within the hospital, including staffing, patient flow, and coordination of hospital activities.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor care given by team members in accordance with patient needs and professional capabilities and qualifications.
  • Assist in creating a positive work environment by mentoring staff and students, and working with team members to facilitate initiatives that strive for positive outcomes in quality and care of patients.
  • Coordinate patient flow and placement to coordinate with staff availability.
  • Identify problem situations, develop and implement effective decisions.
  • Prepare and mix IV solutions, follow physicians' orders for medications and concentration, and demonstrate appropriate aseptic technique.
  • Responsible for surgery scheduling after hours and on weekends and holidays, and works directly with physicians to schedule surgeries.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an approved nursing program, BSN preferred.
  • 3 years clinical experience, 2 years of critical care experience preferred.
  • Current Iowa Registered Nursing License, Basic Life Support Certification upon hire, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 45 days of hire, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification within 45 days of hire.
  • Must be CPI/MOAB certified within the first 6 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
