POSITION SUMMARY
As a Radiologic Imaging Specialist II, you will play a vital role in the diagnostic imaging process, ensuring that high-quality images are produced for medical evaluation. Your expertise will contribute significantly to patient care and the overall efficiency of our imaging department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct X-ray examinations for various departments including emergency, inpatient, and surgical settings.
  • Engage in cross-training for basic CT examinations to enhance collaboration with CT specialists.
  • Work closely with physicians to address patient medical concerns and establish appropriate imaging protocols.
  • Execute all imaging procedures with precision, ensuring optimal image quality for diagnostic purposes; adhere to established policies and protocols.
  • Verify patient identity and maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and test results.
  • Update and manage patient information in electronic medical records (EMR) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
  • Perform venipunctures when necessary, ensuring adherence to safety standards while administering contrast media.
  • Implement safety measures and utilize ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS
  • Previous experience in Radiology is essential.
  • Ability to initiate IVs as required to assist CT technologists.
  • Self-driven with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex quantitative data.
  • Basic proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to imaging tasks.
  • Fundamental math skills for calculations related to imaging procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of imaging techniques and procedures.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in challenging situations.
  • Understanding of patient handling and care techniques.
  • Awareness of professional regulations and accreditation standards.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Required: Certification in Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Radiology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • State Radiographer Operator License as mandated.
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (ARRT-R).
  • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) as required.
  • ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-M).
  • ARRT certification in Mammography (ARRT-M).
  • ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT-N).
  • Nuclear Medicine Technician Certification Board (NMTCB) certification.
  • Registered Ultrasonographer (ARDMS) certification.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimal travel required.
