Compensation Range:
$ 48.32/hr - $ 59.43/hr - $ 66.89/hr
*Note: The maximum starting rate for new hires is $59.43/hr, contingent on relevant experience.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Registered Nurse is a certified professional responsible for delivering patient care in alignment with the standards, policies, and practices of Enloe Medical Center.
The RN specializing in Labor & Delivery offers support to women throughout the labor and delivery experience, in addition to providing couplet care for both mothers and infants.
This role requires the Registered Nurse to prioritize patient needs, coordinate care, and collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure adherence to the medical care plan.
These services are integral to the mission of Enloe Medical Center, which focuses on enhancing the quality of life through patient-centered care.
EDUCATION / TRAINING /EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Requirements:
Must possess one of the following:
- One year of acute care nursing experience
- Completion of a Rural Nursing Preceptorship or equivalent in a Perinatal environment
- One year of experience as a Nursing Assistant or Student Extern in a Perinatal setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of clinical experience in a Labor & Delivery Unit
CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
- Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
- Current CPR certification.
- Current ACLS certification (to be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Current NRP certification (to be obtained within 1 month of hire)
Fetal Monitoring Competence:
- Completion of AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (next available class from hire date).
- Completion of AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 2 years of hire.
- Evidence of ongoing Fetal Monitoring Competence every two years (as determined by Nurse Manager).
Specific to Relief Charge Nurse:
Must acquire PALS certification within 6 months of assuming relief charge responsibilities (department tracks)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current NRP certification upon hire
- Current ACLS certification upon hire
- Basic Fetal Monitoring certification upon hire
- National Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics (NCC)
ABILITIES:
Must exhibit technical proficiency, sound clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and empathy for patients and families in distress. Must possess the capability to perform the essential functions of the role.
