Ampersand Solutions Group seeks a highly skilled Classification and Declassification Expert to provide contractor support for classification and declassification reviews at the Department of Navy (DON) Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).

**Job Summary**

The ideal candidate will assist Declassification Authorities (DA) with classification reviews, mandatory declassification reviews, and safeguarding of documents governed by NCIS's Original Classification Authority. This role involves reviewing information proposed for release to the public, Congress, Congressional Committees, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, or requests pertinent to ongoing investigations and operations.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assist in conducting internal declassification reviews to optimize records management;
  • Review and provide weekly status updates on review progress to requestors/customers and monthly reports to the Government Lead detailing review completion metrics;
  • Ensure all documents forwarded for classification/declassification review are entered into the Declassification Tracker database when received and updated upon completion;
  • Document written memos for each review stating results, recommendations, and final determinations;
  • Forward completed reports to the Declassification Authority for signature prior to submission to requestors;
  • Manage correspondence and documents appropriately and return them to requestors as required;
  • Assist in preparing and logistics of annual Classification training;
  • Support administrative duties for the NCIS NSD SCIF, including management of SF701 and SF702 checklists and visitor logs;
  • Act as a Data Transfer Agent completing cross-domain data transfers daily.

**Requirements**

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • 1 year of relevant experience and skills in records management and administration;
  • 2 years security specialist experience working in a classified environment;
  • 1 year of Information Security/Classification Management experience, or FOIA reviewing experience;
  • ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE with SCI Eligibility.

**Location and Work Environment**

Workplace: NCIS Headquarters, Quantico, VA 22134. Telework option available for a hybrid work scenario.

**Estimated Annual Salary:** $85,000 - $110,000 based on location and qualifications.
