Firefighter/EMT - Rural Metro

We are seeking a highly skilled Firefighter EMT to join our team at Rural Metro Fire. As a Firefighter EMT, you will be responsible for performing fire prevention, fire suppression, and emergency medical services duties to protect life and property.

• Fire Suppression: Respond to emergency fire alarms, assist in suppressing structural, residential, commercial, industrial, chemical, petroleum, vehicle, aircraft, and Wildland fires, and operate various pieces of fire equipment and gear.
• Emergency Medical Services: Respond to emergency medical calls, evaluate situations, provide emergency and non-emergency medical procedures, and transfer patients to medical facilities.
• Customer Service: Conduct fire safety inspections, provide information to the public, install smoke detectors, and participate in public education standbys.
• Maintenance: Conduct daily and weekly vehicle and equipment inspections, ensure all vehicle and equipment discrepancies are documented and reported, and perform daily maintenance of facilities.
• Training: Participate in all required training sessions, including live fire drills, performance evaluation drills, and ongoing skills maintenance.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• State issued, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (ProBoard) certifications as a minimum: Firefighter I, Hazardous Materials-Operations.
• State issued or National Registered EMT-B.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with Rural/Metro policy.
• Able to work any assigned shift, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Available to work overtime as assigned and as needed on an emergency basis.
