Position Summary:

The individual will engage in progressive machining tasks, interpret technical blueprints and schematics, and produce precision components with varying complexities, often adhering to stringent tolerances or unique specifications.
  • The work primarily focuses on large-scale milling operations, catering to the military/defense and aerospace sectors.
  • Candidates can expect to operate some of the largest milling machines in the industry.
  • Experience with overhead cranes or hoists is advantageous, as material handling is a key component of the role.
  • Inspection experience is crucial, as the quality of the produced parts is paramount.
  • Basic sub-assembly, grinding, and deburring tasks may also be required.
  • New hires will have the opportunity to shadow seasoned machinists to gain hands-on experience with setup and operation of large components.
  • Responsibilities include planning and verifying the materials and operations for each job.
  • Setup of machines and equipment will require ensuring the correct feeds, speeds, stops, clamps, fixtures, and tooling are utilized.
  • Operating machinery to perform progressive machining operations is essential for producing precision parts according to customer specifications.
  • Interpreting blueprints and adhering to manufacturing processes is a critical aspect of the role.
  • Inspecting finished components for adherence to specifications, including visual checks for surface quality and conformity, is required.
  • Assembling parts into complete units when necessary.
  • Utilizing material handling equipment to transport materials and components throughout the facility.
  • Completing all necessary documentation for assigned jobs, including data entry into the ERP system.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace is expected.

Work Schedule:

  • Available positions on 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 1:30 AM, Monday to Thursday).
  • Weekend shift openings (5:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday to Sunday).
  • The work environment is climate-controlled and well-lit.
  • Safety gear, including hard hats and steel-toed shoes, is mandatory during shifts.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage ranges from $28 to $45, based on experience and interview performance.
