We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Southeast Orthopedic Specialists. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from injuries and illnesses, improving their mobility, and enhancing their overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Examine patients' medical histories and develop personalized treatment plans to restore physical function and prevent permanent disability.
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' strength, range of motion, balance, and coordination, and develop exercise regimens to improve flexibility, strength, and endurance.
Use various techniques, including electrical stimulation, hot packs, cold compresses, and ultrasound, to relieve pain and reduce swelling.
Teach patients how to use assistive and adaptive devices, such as crutches, prosthesis, and wheelchairs.
Document patients' progress, conduct periodic examinations, and modify treatments as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in physical therapy from an accredited program and successful completion of clinical internship.
Master's degree in physical therapy preferred.
Minimum two years of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in a clinic setting.
Current state physical therapist license and current CPR certificate.
Skills and Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to educate patients about their physical therapy treatments.
Ability to demonstrate compassion and a desire to help patients.
Ability to analyze data and modify treatment plans as needed.
Work Environment
Medical office, exam rooms, and specially equipped therapy facilities.
Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and biohazards.
Physical and Mental Demands
Frequently move heavy equipment, lift patients, or help them turn, stand, or walk.
Occasionally must be able to lift and carry 50+ pounds.
Periodic stress from workload or anxious patients.
