We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit team at TriCities Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and making a real impact in the lives of our patients.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit, you will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, performing procedures, and providing exceptional care to our patients. You will work collaboratively with medical providers and the care team to ensure personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Requirements
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
- Virginia Registered Nurse license or active Compact State RN license required
- Nursing graduate with RN Diploma or Associate Degree required
- Complete a cardiac rhythm interpretation or challenge test with 15 months of hire
