Computed Tomography Technologist

The CT Technologist will perform complex tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary
- Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast
- Evaluate CT scans for technical quality and collate processed images in sequence of exposure
- Assist with clerical functions, maintain accurate patient records, and provide orientation and training to new CT technologists
- Rotate through the on-call schedule and be willing to report back to work during emergency situations
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- CT Technologist certification through one of two ways: completion of a 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology plus completion of an accredited CT program, or completion of a 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology plus on-the-job training in CT with 3 years of continued proven competence
- Previous CT experience in a hospital setting strongly preferred
- Registered in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required
- Registered in CT Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required (or certified within 18 months of employment)
- Certified under the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) required
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with imaging colleagues, physicians, and department heads
- Exemplary core customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong PC skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to consistently exercise independent judgment
