Your leadership will be vital in delivering the infrastructure and functionality for menu and pricing data across all commerce channels. This includes developing APIs that facilitate the management of menu and pricing data for both restaurant staff and corporate teams.
As a team leader, you will be expected to mentor and support your colleagues while also contributing your technical expertise to complex software development projects. Your role will encompass both leadership responsibilities and hands-on engineering work, ensuring the success of your team and the quality of the products delivered.

Key Responsibilities- Act as the technical authority for a software engineering team comprising both full-time and contract engineers.
- Make critical architectural decisions for the products developed by your team.
- Oversee the delivery and operational management of the team's projects, balancing individual contributions with team support.
- Dedicate approximately 50% of your time to engineering tasks, including coding and design.
- Guide, mentor, and evaluate other engineers, promoting best practices and collaborative problem-solving.
- Manage professional consulting agreements to meet the team's development and support requirements.
- Lead the engineering team in adhering to Chick-fil-A's software engineering standards.
- Identify and recommend emerging technologies and methodologies in software engineering.
Note: This role operates within a DevOps framework, requiring both development and operational support, which may involve off-hours work. Team members share responsibilities for weekend and evening support, focusing on designing resilient systems that automate responses to potential issues.
Minimum Qualifications- Extensive backend programming experience in Java.
- Proven experience in designing and architecting complex software solutions.
- Ability to deliver results as an individual contributor while effectively leading a team of engineers.
- Proficient in influencing product teams and engineers to achieve desired outcomes.
- Experience in mentoring technical engineers, with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Subversion.
- Experience in implementing application security, software design patterns, and the software development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to positively impact engineering culture and practices.
- Technical player/coach dedicated to continuous improvement in digital products and services.
- Experience with test-driven development, continuous integration, and agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and mobile development testing frameworks.
- Understanding of AWS architecture.
- Ability to balance relationship-building with achieving results.
- Experience in navigating challenging situations with respect and professionalism.
- Familiarity with native mobile application delivery.
- Experience in agile development practices, including sprints and daily standups.
- Proficient in SQL and data modeling.
