Join Our Team as a Diesel & Automotive Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Diesel & Automotive Mechanic to join our team at Transdev in DeKalb, IL. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance on a variety of vehicles, including Ford cutaways and transit buses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance on transit vehicles to ensure compliance with Transdev standards
  • Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair all assigned transit vehicles and related mechanical equipment
  • Maintain a paperless shop using iPad tablet technology to streamline work orders
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
Requirements:
  • Commercial Driving License with passenger and airbrake endorsements (development opportunities available)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to read, interpret safety documents, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams
  • Experience with heavy-duty transit equipment and a strong understanding of mechanical systems
