Clinical Pharmacists Role Overview

The Clinical Pharmacists role at Texas Children's Hospital is a dynamic and challenging position that requires strong clinical skills and a passion for patient care. As a member of our pharmacy team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage medication-related issues to prevent adverse drug events
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to optimize medication regimens and promote patient safety
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers about safe medication use
  • Conduct discharge medication reviews and counseling to ensure patients understand their medication therapies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy required
  • RPH certification from the state of Texas required
  • 2+ years hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred
  • 40 hours of training in compounding sterile products accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists preferred

Salary and Benefits

Estimated salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience
