Key Responsibilities:
- Inputting a range of documents, such as letters, memos, reports, and other communications while ensuring proofreading and editing for precision.
- Maintaining both electronic and physical filing systems.
- Assisting with data entry and record-keeping tasks.
- Responding to inquiries from both internal and external sources via various communication channels.
- Preparing and managing spreadsheets, reports, presentations, databases, and complex records essential to assigned tasks.
- Supporting the implementation of new programs, systems, procedures, and operational methods.
- Maintaining employee personnel records and files, including attendance and payroll information.
- Handling tasks related to processing workers' compensation.
- Addressing routine inquiries regarding departmental policies and procedures.
- Preparing necessary documentation and records.
- Performing additional related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience as a typist or data entry clerk.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
- Understanding of public administration principles and practices.
- Ability to independently write, edit, and create memos, correspondence, letters, and reports.
- At least one year of progressively responsible office or clerical experience, complemented by secretarial or computer courses; ability to type at a speed of 55-65 words per minute.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint, with a willingness to learn additional software.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and mathematical functions.
- A creative mindset, initiative, and a desire to consistently exceed expectations.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Completion of training in basic office skills, including typing, filing, and other administrative tasks.
