Passaic County Community College is seeking a part-time Welding Fabrication Specialist to provide assistance to students in the Welding Lab.
Estimated Salary: $25-$35 per hourJob ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Industry and Trades Coordinator, following the curriculum and assisting students in the classroom and welding lab. Key duties include:
- Preparing, welding, and inspecting welds on various materials and processes
- Fabricating and cutting steel, including mild, stainless, and aluminum
- Guiding student learning and facilitating workshop sessions as needed
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must possess:
- A current welding certification or completion from a recognized program (AWS), Trade School, or equivalent welder/fabricator course, or 15 years of documented experience
- Knowledge of welding theory, code requirements, and certification mandates
- Strong fundamentals and ability to follow safety protocols
- Ability to work with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds in various learning settings
- 5 years of experience in fabrication, fitting, iron work, welding, CNC, pipe, and related metalworking industries (civilian and military)
- Certifications such as bend test, OSHA, torch, and fire watch are highly valued but not required
