Position Overview

The Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients' physical and functional capabilities, focusing on various systems including musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary. This role involves gathering pertinent information from patient records, family members, and other relevant sources.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform thorough evaluations to establish a physical therapy diagnosis and prognosis.
  2. Set realistic short-term and long-term objectives tailored to each patient.
  3. Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  4. Administer and monitor therapeutic interventions, adjusting as necessary based on patient responses.
  5. Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance care quality and facilitate discharge planning.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  7. Provide education to patients and their families regarding ongoing therapy and exercise programs.
  8. Supervise and mentor students and new staff members as required.
Equipment Utilization

The role involves the use of various therapeutic equipment, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation units, treadmills, and electronic medical records systems.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy and hold an active state license. A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Certifications

Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and appropriate state licensure in Physical Therapy.

Work Schedule

This position typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule with occasional weekend rotations as needed.

Dress Code

Professional attire is expected, including khakis and company logo wear or business casual options. Scrubs, if worn, should be in black or khaki.

Training and Orientation

New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation program, including hands-on training with electronic documentation systems to ensure proficiency in patient care and departmental procedures.
