Job Summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for performing assembly operations to produce commercial indoor air handling units.

Key Responsibilities

• Installs parts according to the Assembly Manual, special instructions, prints or other documentation.
• Utilizes air gun, radial drill, cutoff saw, and other powered tools to fabricate parts for installation.
• Completes layouts for header panels and cuts appropriate sized holes.
• Works at different work stations as production needs require.
• Operates overhead crane to move subassemblies into place.
• Removes materials from crates and boxes.
• Verifies quality of work performed and documents results. Takes appropriate corrective action if a deviation is found.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos (i.e. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shop-floor paperwork, and procedure manuals).
• Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and work in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust ocus. Those employees with forklift licenses will require distance vision.
