Job Description

This position will provide patient-centered high-quality exams such as Transthoracic Adult and Pediatric, Transesophageal and Stress Echo utilizing modalities of M-mode, two-dimensional and doppler. The Diagnostic Imaging Professional will adhere to the guidelines within the requirements of the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) and perform exams based on the approved policy and procedures of the Echocardiography Department.

Responsibilities
  • Identify patients using hospital policy and two identifiers.
  • Provide a total patient exam experience according to echocardiography policy and procedures.
  • Assist physicians during exams.
  • Complete annual ACC department and hospital-wide competency.
  • Participate in gathering and recording Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement data for ICAEL Accreditation.
  • Maintain professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing medical education programs.
  • Ensure workspace cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and restocking supplies.
  • Cross-train for assisting with EKGs, holter monitors, event monitors, and stress testing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to process echo images and documentation into the echo structured reporting system.
  • Demonstrate competency with department information service required applications.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited/approved Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Cardiac Ultrasound preferred.
  • Registry by Cardiovascular Credentialing International/National Board of Cardiovascular Testing, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
