Customs Duty Drawback Specialist

Coda Search│Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Customs Duty Drawback Representative to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and executing a compliant duty drawback program.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and maintain a compliant duty drawback program, including data and document collection, and auditing prior to claim submissions.
- Direct the workload of duty drawback brokers, ensuring they have accurate data and documents to timely submit claims.
- Review import and export activity to ensure refund opportunities are maximized.
- Monitor drawback bonds sufficiency and work with Customs Regulatory to make bond changes as needed.
- Manage and document duty drawback refunds, ensuring allocation to the appropriate business area and reporting to Finance.
- Drive process improvement in collaboration with Manufacturing, Accounting & Finance to maximize refund per manufactured unit.
- Coordinate with Siemens Energy Inc., businesses, Customs Regulatory, and Duty Drawback brokers for review and response of Drawback Desk Reviews/CF28's.
- Stay up-to-date on federal regulation changes impacting the duty drawback program and evaluate the impact to current processes.
- Conduct feasibility analysis of SEI and affiliate businesses' eligibility to leverage Duty Drawback and Foreign Trade Zones.
- Advise U.S. business areas on Duty Drawback and Foreign Trade Zone questions and strategies to facilitate compliant duty optimization and recovery.
- Take initiative to collaborate with business areas and Customs Functional Excellence team to drive digitalization and modernization of data collection/processing for Duty Drawback program.
- Maintain and update current drawback Manufacturing Rulings and prepare and submit rulings for new activity.
- Maintain Drawback Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions current and develop new Procedures/Templates/Forms/Fact Sheets as required.
- Develop and provide Duty Drawback related training to peers, colleagues, stakeholders, and businesses as necessary to maintain a high level of compliance awareness and knowledge within the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of successful experience in U.S. Customs Duty Drawback.
- Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist is required.
- Knowledge of CFR 15 and 19, with in-depth knowledge of Duty Drawback Regulations.
- Ability to identify and propose corrective actions to resolve issues.
- Hands-on experience with ERPs, preferably SAP, and Global Trade management software.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio) and other tools to analyze data and effectively use office automation and software tools.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams located in different time zones.
