This position requires the ability to operate state-of-the-art mixing equipment, pumping systems, high-speed mixers, and tinting equipment in a production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for following process orders from start to finish and recording all relevant information.
Key Responsibilities:- Add materials at specified quantities and times
- Observe temperatures and mixtures, and record necessary batch information
- Take, conduct, and record samples at designated times to ensure timely, consistent, and high-quality batches
- Packaging finished material in appropriate packaging
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English to operate machines and interface with PLC control screens
- Ability to solve simple math problems to accurately record chemical additions, lot numbers, and scale readings
- Mechanical ability to operate automated packaging equipment
- Ability to think ahead and prepare for upcoming batches
- Ability to work with chemicals and machinery safely
- Physical ability to bend, push, pull, lift, and climb
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
- Troubleshoot equipment and process difficulties, taking corrective action to prevent material loss or production time
- Communicate with other batch operators and maintenance personnel when difficulties arise
- Operate a forklift in a safe manner to eliminate inventory damage and accidents
