Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Medical Specialist to join our team at Iredell Memorial Hospital Incorporated. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with physicians to coordinate and manage the process of patient care.

About the Role

The Primary Care Medical Specialist will provide expanded primary health care services for a case load of patients in the areas of clinical specialization. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication skills both written and verbal. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Nursing and be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients, including conducting physical exams, taking medical histories, and developing treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians to coordinate and manage patient care, ensuring that patients receive high-quality and cost-effective medical management.
  • Conduct routine check-ups, screenings, and tests to monitor patients' health and identify potential problems early on.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab results and imaging studies, to inform treatment decisions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patients' unique needs and health status.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, diagnoses, and treatments.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
  • Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in North Carolina
  • Certification in Acute Care or Adult NP; consideration of Family Practice and Geriatric certification with recent acute care experience
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fundamental knowledge of PC-based applications
  • Good physical and mental fitness to meet the demands made by patients, families, and physicians
