We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at RSM US LLP. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for providing compliance and consulting services to corporations, utilizing your expertise in taxation to guide clients through complex tax matters.
Key Responsibilities- Technical review of tax workpapers and tax returns to ensure high-quality work product
- Advising clients on corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions activities
- Serving as a career advisor, mentor, or coach to team members, providing performance feedback and guidance
- Assisting with new business development, extended service, and tax issue recognition for existing clients
- Developing and training staff-level team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Managing corporate client needs, ensuring effective tax services and federal and state tax compliance
- Researching and reviewing tax questions related to income tax compliance for federal, state, and ASC 740 purposes
- Developing and sustaining strong client relationships, ensuring effective communication with external and internal stakeholders
- Staying up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Finance
- 8 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong background in partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations, and commercial industries
- Proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients
- EA or CPA certification
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience in business/client-facing roles
- Good project management and critical thinking skills
- Experience in technical review of tax returns and workpapers
- Master's degree in Business Administration (Finance)
- Experience working for a Big 4 or large national accounting firm
- Proficient in corporate taxation and consolidated tax returns
- Technical review and analysis of federal, state, partnership, and S corporation tax returns
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Review of ASC 740 tax provisions
- Experience in dealing with international tax matters
- Familiarity with tax research tools and tax preparation technology
