Role ResponsibilitiesThis position offers a unique opportunity to integrate into a well-established practice, taking over the responsibilities of a retiring physician to meet community healthcare needs. We are looking for a motivated individual committed to delivering exceptional spinal care.
Position Highlights:
The selected neurosurgeon will have the chance to enhance the range of spine services offered. Surgical responsibilities will include both routine and complex spine procedures. Participation in general neurosurgery and trauma call is expected, with an average call schedule of 1:4. Additional duties will encompass clinical care, educational activities, and involvement in research.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform complex, reconstructive, and routine spine surgeries
- Participate in neuro/trauma call as required
- Travel to off-site clinics as necessary
- Engage in clinical research initiatives
- Potential for academic faculty appointment
Ascension St. Mary's is recognized as the leading neuro-specialized facility in the region, equipped with advanced technology and a team of highly skilled professionals.
- Only certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in the area
- Dedicated neuro-intensive care unit and specialized nursing staff
- Expert neurosurgeons, neurologists, and neurointerventionalists
- Specialized operating rooms for neurosurgery
Licensure/Certification:
- MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed by the Michigan Board of Medicine.
Preferred Credentials:
- Advanced Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
Fellowship trained in Spine Neurosurgery, with US Board Eligibility.
